The new Fiat 500c will make its debut next week at the New York Auto Show, just in time for summer season.
Based on the sedan version, it has identical dimensions with the added feature of a folding electric top. The top design is similar to the type that was on the original, but updated with a premium dual-layer power-operated cloth top
The the open roofed Fiat 500c was created by the Fiat Centro Stile design center in Italy with input from enthusiasts all over the world via the "500 Wants You" website. This is in keeping with Fiat's philosophy of "a car for the people, by the people"...
The soft top of the Fiat 500C is a true marvel of design, characterized by a sophisticated electrically controlled movement and innovative technical solutions.
The automatic electric soft top can be controlled either by buttons near to the interior ceiling light or from the remote control. In addition, the soft top can be operated throughout its horizontal travel (as far as the spoiler) at speeds up to 60mph (100km/h). Vertical movement can be engaged at any speed under 37mph (60 km/h).
The trunk also features excellent loadability with the soft top fully open, thanks to a clever parallelogram hinge device for the trunk lid.
We'll have more on the Fiat 500c next week, so stick around!
