US Fiat 500 rear bumper revealed...
Last month, Fiat North America posted a series of pictures of the new US Fiat 500 Sport (view here). These photos were of the front and side, but left us wondering what the rear looked like. Just surfacing now are a series of rear shots taken of the US 500 undergoing preproduction tests.
They show the details of the redesigned US bumper, which was done in Italy, under the direction of Roberto Giolito, Head of the Centro Stile Fiat and the original designer of the 500.
Much sportier and different from the European bumper, it's much closer to the Abarth.
Particularly interesting are the grille inserts and the large rear tailpipe.

Is the second picture reversed? It shows the exhaust on the right.
Yes, the second pic is reversed, if you look closely, the driver is on the passenger side, meaning it's wrong if these are US models, which is plainly obvious.
Also, note a subtle change to the taillights, if you noticed on the Euro models, the backup light is on the driver's side only (left hand drive, left taillight, Rt hand drive, right taillight) with the other location having a reflector in place (or a rear fog light), the US models will have both taillights housing a backup light.
I rather like what they've done with the rear bumpers.
Hi Guys!
You guys have sharp eyes, I had to do a double check myself. It was 2AM when I posted this and I thought I was seeing things!
Great info ciddyguy. Thanks for sharing.
Chris
I hope that extra big exhaust has a nice Abarth roar.

Can't wait to drive the MultiAir. More low end torque sounds good!
Final comparisons please (:
