Here's a great comment I have to share...

Ah, what a dilemma. Paraphrasing the Bard, "To buy or not to buy, that is the question--Whether tís nobler to buy the 500 in December or to wait for Abarth anon---Whether to Harmannize or wait for Carlo to appear in the wings...To wait, ah there is the rub, for watching 500's on the highways and byways while driving lessor steeds would be agony, but being Abarthized would be sweet revenge!"

Terry, thanks for that comment...it's perfect....

This echoes my sentiment exactly, but I'm keeping a small flame of hope that we'll see the Abarth at or at least near the US launch.
Otherwise, the choice between agony seeing 500s about and the agony of seeing the Abarth zipping by when I've got a standard 500 which can never really be upgraded to match the package of the Abarth. Be kind FIAT.
Well put. Performance wise I don't think there is much of a question, the extended wait is just gonna hurt. Good things come to those who wait however!
I think the same thing every time I read an article about the 500, and think "wow, I will finally get to see them running around on the streets soon........" then I think "Damn!"
Then, I look over at my die-cast model of a 500 Abarth. It makes me feel better, sort of.
The bummer is that I will have to wait even LONGER for the 500c Abarth!!
Thanks Chris. (Your photos made my modest comments complete!)-- I've said it before, but grazie tante for running this site and keeping everyone aware of the latest news and more importantly, allowing us to get our daily FIAT "fix".

I think my solution will be to get the standard 500 when it comes out, then sell it to get an Abarth when that comes out. I figure demand for the 500 should be pretty good by the time the Abarth comes out, so it won't be too hard to sell. Hopefully the depreciation hit will be modest, too. Might be a way to have your cake and eat it too....
Great site. I put my name down on a waiting list for the Abarth in Canada. I know that the Abarth is coming, but as some of you have said, it's going to be a long wait. At this point, I am guessing end of this year, early next.
