US Fiat 500 Abarth Price and Other Rumors

US 500 Abarth
US Fiat500 Abarth

Here is the latest, heard through the grapevine. Back on November 18, I reported that a very good source told me the Fiat 500 Abarth would be priced below $25K (read about it here). How far below was not specified, but the general feeling from the conversation was somewhere between $24 and 25 thousand.

Now comes word that the Fiat 500 Abarth will come significantly under that first assessment. What has been relayed to me is that the US Fiat 500 Abarth will start at $22,500. Now this is not official, but it does come from another particularly reliable source.

Fiat 500 TwinAir
Fiat 500 TwinAir - Will the new Fiat 500T look more like a 500 or more like a 500 Abarth?

Also talked about being in the works is a higher horsepower version of the 500. Known at the moment as the Fiat 500T, it will be slotted between the 500 Sport and the 500 Abarth. Power output has been reported as high as 135 HP or the same as a European 500 Abarth.

Fiat ElleZero

Finally, the 4 door Fiat sedan, currently known under the code name ElleZero, will make its way to the US rather quickly following the European launch at the Geneva Motor Show in March.

Abarth pricing is expected to be revealed next month - stay tuned!

THis is great news. This is right where the Abarth needs to be priced to make it attractive especially to those who aren't FIAT afficianados. Glad to hear about the 500T also. I wonder what my Prima will bring on a trade?

FIAT is fast understanding that it needs to boot the engine HP on the 500 plus offer a larger US vehicle and fast - but OMG the L0 is just beyond ugly in these photos. What are those rubber baby buggy bumpers on the doors???? FIAT offers such nice sedans in the UK like the Bravo and the Panda -- why are they sending us this L0?

Here is another reliable source, the Abarth will be priced at $22,700 however not sure if that includes destination. The picture here as the Elle Zero is not correct. It is close, but it will be restyled for american tastes. The FIAT 500t will be priced at $19,500 and be styled after the sport with performance upgrades under the hood and drivetrain. Here is the real news, FIAT has greatly underestimated the interest in the Abarth, there will not be enough to fill the orders at all of the studios to begin with. So, if you want one I suggest you contact your local studio fast, and place your order. FIAT has not begun accepting orders yet, but the studios are taking them so the second the system open up for orders they can be placed. Sold orders will be given first priority.
