A good post there Chris, although I've heard that the Pop now gets the USB/Blue & Me standard but the price didn't change, thanks to Mass going hands free.

True, the Pop comes with Blue & Me standard as of 5/5/11. I ordered mine on 5/2/11, the POC shows a charge of 500 for Blue & Me, but at the bottom there is a discount of 500.

I think 10 to 12 thousand is a much more reasonable price for a tiny little car that comes from a manufacturer that has had quality issues in the past. I am a big fan of these cars and the smart cars but the price of these things I find to be way out of line for you get.

I think you really need to examine all the features, safety and engineering that the 500 provides and then look at what cars are 10-12 thousand dollars. The reality of 2011 is you can't sell a car like the 500 for that little. You have to add $2000 to the base price of a Yaris and it still doesn't have all the features the 500 has.

when compared to the Hyundai series of cars and price comparable to the Sonata which is mid range and has many luxury features plus all Hyundai's have long term stress free warranty, and Hyundais' impeccable record on maintenance issues, it is obvious that the price is based on "Cute" like the Mini Cooper. there are people that will pay for "cute" and "darling" little car, but I dont think that will last long. Like the Smart Car this price will drop with time, but if you want to be the first to pay for Italian "cute" go for it

price is quite high for these. With the top end of the 500 at %23,000.. the abarth i would guess be higher... for 25,000 i can go get a Impreza WRX, camareo, mustang, etc and get my performance fix.. not to mention a cooper S with more power. prices are 3-4k too high! then i would buy.
