Fiat Studios are being shipped Fiat 500 demos as you read this. These are called Fiat 500 Marketing Units in official Fiat speak, and come in 6 colors: Argento, Rame, Nero, Rosso, Rosso Brillante, and Grigio. All are Sport models and are all equipped with 5-speed manual transmissions.
These Fiat 500 Marketing Units are owned by Chrysler and are not for sale.

A local dealer has theirs but they say it will not be available to drive until Feb 24th. Anyone with similar experience? Do official crash test results have to come out before they can sell cars? Is there something they're waiting on?
The are certain requirements that have to be met for the Demo units (paperwork,insurance, etc) the dealer could be waiting for those to go through. It's your particular dealer that is waiting.
Each dealer has to sign up for the demo program, it's an individual thing.
The car is certified for sale in the US, so no hold up there.
I am not going to name names but I was told that Prima Edizion owners can get one if they so desire after 3/1 or order a Lounge.
I took it for a spin this passed Monday, Presidents day @ Fiat of Concord, CA.
No hold up here... but still no word on my Prima...
